Tips for ski camps and ski vacations
Well prepared and insured on the slopes

Skiing is fun - especially when you go as a group. This can be a skiing vacation with family and friends, a trip with the club or a trip with the whole class to a ski camp.

In order to really enjoy the whole experience, it is important to be well prepared. This includes being in good physical condition through appropriate fitness training before the trip as well as preparing for accidents.
This definitely requires the right equipment, but also the necessary insurance in case of an accident.
We have therefore put together an overview of the most important things.

Equipment for the slopes:

• Helmet (protects against head injuries)
• Back protection (so-called "protector or shield" against back injuries)
• Skis and ski bindings (have them checked and individually adjusted by a specialist)
• Ski boots (well-fitting and warm)
• Ski poles (make sure they are the right length)
• Ski suit or jacket/trousers (breathable, water-repellent/tight)
• Functional ski underwear (breathable)
• Ski gloves (water-repellent/tight)
• Ski goggles (protects against UV rays)
• Avalanche rescue equipment (rescue backpack, beeper, etc.)
• Backpack/bag (first-aid kit, handkerchiefs, etc.)

Equipment for ski camp:

• light shoes / hiking boots / sports shoes
• light house clothes
• Sweater (warm)
• pyjamas
• Hygiene articles (
• washing kit (with towel)
• Spare clothes (underwear, socks, etc.)
• Winter shoes (warm and good tread)

Important personal items:

• Medication / First-aid kit guide
• Vaccination record
• Check vaccinations and refresh if necessary
• Health insurance card
• Identity card / passport
• Visa (if required)
• Proof of health insurance abroad
• Driving license (registration certificate for own vehicle)
• Green insurance card (automobile liability insurance)
• Train tickets / flights / etc.
• Entertainment (listening to music, reading, playing games)
